Satisfaction Spike
A brief period of elevated positive affect that occurs after a customer receives confirmation that a service has been delivered or a task has been completed successfully. The spike is characterized by reduced cognitive load and a mild emotional uplift, creating a window of heightened receptivity to offers. An upsell presented during a satisfaction spike converts better than the same offer presented during cognitive fatigue. The concept is complementary to the window of decision and is central to timing-based upsell architecture.
Example: A ride-hailing app presents an upgrade offer for a premium vehicle class on the post-ride rating screen, when the rider has just experienced a successful trip, rather than during the booking flow.
